August 31: Please pray for all those who have died in what could be the largest tragedy in US history. Pray for God's strength & peace for those who are mourning, & for His comfort and strength for those who have lost their homes (my sister & her husband's home in Mississippi is gone; they're safe, thank God). I've heard that the historic Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis was leveled along with most of the town. Jesus, I trust in You. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Bp. Skylstad is dealing with his own hurricane in Spokane: the Scandal that is bankrupting the diocese. Maybe he could consult Abp. Gregory & Cdl. Mahony? How can the Washington state courts rule that Spokane's churches & property are fair game in paying the buggery bill?.... for didn't the Vatican just state this month that Boston Archdiocesan parishes, property are not "owned" by the diocese & therefore could not be sold off to pay bills without the parishes/pastors having some say?

maybe he's asked Card McCarrick to form a task force to study the issue. btw, any conclusion yet on what to do with pro-abortion politicians and the continuing scandal of allowing them to receive Holy Communion?

The staff no doubt hasn't yet told him what he thinks.
