The Santorum watch

By Phil Lawler (bio - articles ) | Apr 29, 2003

On Worldnet Daily, within the space of 24 hours, columns by editor Joseph Farah and by Pat Buchanan have told the unvarnished truth about Sen. Rick Santorum: that he's being savaged for statements that are completely in line with Catholic teaching and with mainstream American public opinion. Farah and Buchanan also make some pointed observations as to why this is happening.

But I have a different question. Let's leave "mainstream American public opinion" to express itself. But since Santorum's comments also reflect the teachings of the Church, shouldn't Catholic leaders come to his public defense?

I know I've raised the question before. I'm still waiting&.
