Problematic

By Domenico Bettinelli, Jr. (articles ) | October 22, 2004 11:35 AM

I saw this headline in today's VIS Bulletin, the official daily press bulletin of the Vatican: "Cloning Embryos For Stem Cells Is Ethically Problematic."

Problematic? Wearing white after Labor Day is problematic. Cloning and then killing children to harvest their cells is EVIL. Why can't they just say evil?

The emphases and priorities of certain members of the Vatican in recent days has amazed me. Abortion, embryonic stem cell research, cloning of embryos...They do not want to use strong language on these vital issues!...but they can certainly use direct language to distance themselves from the idea of excommunicating a pro-abortion "Catholic" politician. To quote Pope Paul VI: "The Smoke of Satan is in the Sanctuary."

Pampered and (too often over-fed) politicians in the Vatican are problematic. They are vaguely Catholic in Faith and Morals, and too many are Francophile anti-Americans.

"Cloning Embryos For Stem Cells Is Ethically Problematic." Let us all remember that English is not (yet) a dead language. It is living and constantly being renewed. The Vatican has became the nexus of renewal for all things in the modern world - now even for the English language. Thus it is clear that since "Cloning Embryos For Stem Cells" is evil, it must follow that the term "Ethically Problematic" now means "Evil." We can look for the change to appear in the next Oxford English Dictionary.

Kissing at Mass is problematic, hectic, and pedantic if digital cameras present.

Using the word "evil" is problematic...
