A little disclosure with your celebrating, please

By Domenico Bettinelli, Jr. (articles ) | June 04, 2004 4:41 PM

Perhaps while "May is celebrating" Fr. Andrew Greeley's 50 years of priesthood, as Diogenes notes below, it can also persuade him to come clean about what he knows of an alleged Satanic child-abuse/murder ring of clerics.

Matt Abbott reprints a letter from an attorney asking Greeley to do just that:

In your autobiographical books, ‘Confessions of a Parish Priest’ and ‘Furthermore! Memories of a Parish Priest,’ you clearly acknowledge that you know who they are:

“.....But even in Chicago, the ring of predators about whom I wrote in the paperback edition of ‘Confessions’ remains untouched. There is no evidence against them because no one has complained about them and none of their fellow priests have denounced them. Those who have been removed are for the most part lone offenders who lacked the skill to cover their tracks. The ring is much more clever. Perhaps they always will be. But should they slip, should they get caught, the previous scandals will seem trivial...."

With all respect, you do no know what you are dealing with. I am in no way affirming boasting, or indiscretion with knowledge perhaps inadvertently gained. But let the matter rest, all will be revealed in God's time. And in the meantime, may Jesus strenghthen us! JP

John, I'm not the one claiming to have information about a satanic ring of clergy-abusers, Greeley is. If I had such information, you can be sure I would turn it over to the police.

You know , Dom..I think you go a bit too far in this matter.I have a familiarity with the tactics of satanists (priests or otherwise),Not that I know any personally, mind you (not something that I would really look forward to in any case) but from what I know through reading and discussions with others that have "broken out" they know no rules. They do, of course, share the depraved ablities of their master. If you want another to "hunt dragon" by all means model the behavior. No ones stopping you.
