Kudos to David Morrison, whose blog "Sed Contra" has this excellent reflection on the horrific abuse of the Iraqi prisoners.

Incredible evil ... yet nothing compared to the evil of a man consecrated to the service of Almighty God doing the same or worse to an altar boy or a young lady from his parish. Satan enjoys seeing human beings degrade one another ... he hates our humanity, probably because God used it to humiliate him when the Word became Man and destroyed the reign of death on the cross. Domine ad adjuvandum me festina. (O Lord Make haste to help me!)
