    You know. The timing as usual is critical. Just when we need impeccable moral leadership from our bishops, another scandal breaks. This particular scandal undercut the last vestige of authority the bishops had in Massachusetts regarding same sex marriage. The dirt was revealed right at the crucial moment. It's as though these bishops are on the other side and they are planted to discredit our side. I'm glad I don't believe in conspiracies.

    The larger issue, of course, and what we must all focus on, is that Bishop Wilton Gregory did not scapegoat gay clergy. That's A-Number One.
