Unfortunately, Bishop Murphy's in the clear on this one. The social worker obviously knows nothing of the makeup of RCAB, nor did she do any homework. The shuffler/protector of priests, who she thinks is her current bishop, was actually FATHER William Murphy, who ironically is now a spiritual director at St. John Seminary. This Murphy actually engaged in a conspiracy with Shanley to evade justice, signalling him in a letter that he (Shanley) should consider leaving the country.

"She said she believed Murphy's involvement in Boston had not been fully examined because it was eclipsed by the revelations of abuse and cover-up, which occurred on Long Island before Murphy arrived." Ms. Ahearn, are we supposed to believe the DA's staff in Boston didn't "fully examine" the files because of revelations on Long Island? If that hospital assignment of an accused abuser is the worst of the worst, there's no smoking gun.
