One of my best friends, a classmate who joined the Jesuits after graduation and stayed for five years, requested dismissal when he could no longer accept the rampant active homosexuality of that order. After leaving, he revealed that he himself is gay, though he remained chaste for five years. He left because the duplicity his fellow Jesuits is institutionalized. The stories he's told me are repellant. In his communique to the Fr Gnrl, he raised these issues. Response? A faxed dismissal.
