Boys will be ... um, never mind

Remember New York's Harvey Milk High School, the publicly funded academy for gay teenagers? Our betters in the elite media patiently explained to us that such a school was a moral necessity in a pluralist community: homosexual students needed a place to develop a positive self image. The New York Post provides us with an interim progress report on values clarification:

Teenage transgender prostitutes from Harvey Milk HS boasted of earning up to $600 a night turning tricks and stealing from johns -- then would blow it all on extravagant shopping sprees for the designer outfits and shoes they wore to school, The Post has learned.

The 16- and 17-year-old boys-turned-girls regarded themselves as an elite group and set their own rules at the Astor Place school for displaced and special students, classmates said. The teenage hookers often skipped class, slept through some lessons and intimidated students who didn't dress to their standards, said "Nick" Lopez, 16, who shared several classes with the transgenders.

On Thursday, cops busted five teens -- four of them Harvey Milk students and a fifth who attends an after-school program there -- and charged them in connection with five Greenwich Village robberies of men looking for sex.
