consistory announcement coming this Sunday?

By Phil Lawler (bio - articles - send a comment) | October 13, 2010 5:43 PM

Joan Lewis, the EWTN correspondent in Rome, has reported that Pope Benedict will call a consistory for the elevation of new cardinals very soon—in fact her informant thought it might happen today. If that informant was right in believing that an announcement is imminent (as many other Vatican insiders believe), and wrong only about the timing, then the next likely time for an announcement would be this coming Sunday, at the Pope’s Angelus audience.
