eNewsletter Subject: A joyful noise unto the Lord: Goal met!
I wish to begin this Insights message by thanking each one of you who prayed and/or donated to our effort to win a $25,400 challenge grant during our Spring Campaign. We succeeded on Pentecost—the last day!
Clearly, we have our work cut out for us, as a review of recent news stories makes clear:
- Canada’s bishops call for conscience protection as assisted-suicide decision is implemented: As immoral laws are passed throughout the West (including the establishment of gay marriage in Ireland on Friday), this story from Canada indicates the next question: How much coercion will there be?
- Pakistan: mob burns Christian homes after man charged with blaspheming Qu'ran: This is not new in Pakistan (or India, see below), but will Western nations now begin to make their own martyrs?
- India: Protestant minister jailed for ‘forced conversions’: The pastor in question got signed and notarized statements from the converts, to no avail.
- ‘We are living an ecumenism of blood,’ Pope says in video to Phoenix unity celebration: Indeed we are. As Ben Franklin said, if we do not hang together, we will all hang separately.
