eNewsletter Subject: Urgent Upcoming Synod on the Family
Pope Francis is clearly alarmed at the state of the family in the world as a whole, and in the Church as well. He is rushing to focus the next Synod of Bishops on this topic, a meeting that will operate under revised rules to enhance collegiality rather than simply follow a script developed by the Curia.
Despite the reforms, there is still a preparatory document for the special synod, which outlines the problem and lists many of the questions which need to be addressed if the Church is to respond effectively. See Pastoral Challenges to the Family in the Context of Evangelization.
