eNewsletter Subject: Everything Under the Sun
What we have come to call “Catholic” news is fascinating this week, touching so many things. For example:
- Phil Lawler notes what he believes to be a first: At last: one bishop holds another accountable.
- My contribution: Climate Change: The IPCC Retreats. Of course this is only a Catholic issue in that so many have tried to make climate change the ultimate moral test.
- Something that would have been impossible a generation ago: Cuba's bishops call for political reforms.
- And good news of a sort for the USA: Cohabitation rate leveling off.
All of which goes to show that there is a vast difference between our own efforts to change the world and the Master's work. Today I reflect on that difference in On the Culture, not least as it relates to myself: There’s our work and then there’s Christ’s: Spinning Straw into Gold.
