Phil Lawler wrote an interesting piece last Friday to allay the fears of those who think Pope Francis is not careful enough in the way he says things. This is worth thinking about: Worried about the Pope's unscripted statements? Relax. He knows what he's doing.

Another example that suggests the Pope knows what he is doing is the fact that St. Joseph is now to be added to all Eucharistic prayers.

In related news, the canonization of Pope John Paul II appears to be nearing. It is being reported that the required second miracle has been approved.
