eNewsletter Subject: The Love of the Heart of Jesus

The Congregation for the Clergy has issued its Letter on the Occasion of the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests, which coincides with today's Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The thematic title, appropriately, is The Priesthood is the Love of the Heart of Jesus.

I know the CatholicCulture.org community joins me in offering thanks to all of our priests, to whom we owe a debt that runs deeper than we can possibly say.

This week I've also been thinking about parish-centered renewal and evangelization. Too often we become disconnected from our roots. Perhaps a look at the sacrifices and achievements which went into the creation and development of each parish to date might provide a foundation and a rallying point for positive new steps: Local Catholic History: A Spiritual Springboard.
