It is sad that we are still fighting critical battles in the Church and the world that were fully-engaged a generation ago or more. But as Chesterton said in the Battle of the White Horse of the Christian fight against the pagan Danes:

All swords be heaved in vain,
We have more lust again to lose
Than you to win again.

- The fight over abortion, now going on in Ireland (and nearly everywhere): Time travel. Or, a disingenuous argument for new abortion legislation in Ireland.
