Is the Church finally losing patience with the secular world? I may be wrong, but it seems like the tone of Vatican and episcopal comments is gradually growing more pointed.

Recently I called attention to a new vigor on the part of the Vatican's observers at the UN in both New York and Geneva, and now we find a Vatican diplomat attacking the false use of the idea of tolerance at a major European meeting. A new bishop in Finland has also warned the Finnish Lutherans sharply against the recognition of same-sex marriages. And even our own USCCB has fired back at White House press secretary concerning abortion in health care reform....
