Thinking Furiously?
When Agatha Christe's beloved Belgian (not French, thank you) private detective caught a whiff of a clue, he would often say, in his Continental brand of English, "It gives one furiously to think." The detective's name was Hercule Poirot, after Hercules, so when he thought furiously, it was (as he often said himself) "a marvel".
What, you may well ask, has this to do with the price of beans in Russia? Well, there are some very exciting topics just now that ought to give Catholics cause for serious reflection. I hope to point you to several of them in today's message.
