Throughout 2007 we requested and received support from users to further the Catholic apostolic work of Trinity Communications.

OVERVIEW

Catholic Culture (www.catholicculture.org)

  • Planned a single mega-site for all Trinity Communications web-based resources.
  • Began the redesign which will combine the Catholic World News service into CatholicCulture.org in early 2008.
  • Added major resources throughout the site, including library, liturgical year, and website reviews.

Catholic World News (www.CWNews.com)

  • Provided increased news coverage, including substantially more news stories, throughout 2007.
  • Offered more commentary from CWNews head Phil Lawler.
  • Began planning of an enhanced news and commentary service which will merge with CatholicCulture.org in 2008.

Ecommerce (www.trinstore.com/ecom_3/)

  • Continued to develop and improve our line of distinctive RC (Roman Catholic) merchandise.
  • Added distinctive and attractive merchandise options.
  • A small but valued source of income for Trinity.

Catholic Internet Development: Other Organizations

  • Developed websites, including comprehensive online tools and resources, for multiple Catholic organizations and organizations important to the Catholic Church
  • Areas of work have included Catholic education, pro-life work, Catholic health care, and web-based initiatives

Catholic Culture

We devoted 4,267 hours of development work to CatholicCulture.org in 2007, a slight increase over 2006.

Accomplishments include:

  • Design: Began planning and design for a new and more comprehensive site

  • Library: Added 561 critical new documents

  • Reviews: Added 56 new site reviews and updated another 520 existing site reviews.

  • Commentary:

    • Wrote 50 weekly commentary articles on major issues of interest to Catholics
    • Added 97 entries to the brief commentary in our Catholic blog

  • What You Need to Know: Added 32 items to this popular feature, new in 2007

  • Liturgical Year:

    • Updated all 365 calendar days
    • Revised overviews for all twelve months and five liturgical seasons
    • Hundreds of updated and newly-assigned records involving saints, activities, prayers, and recipes

  • Communication: Responded to thousands of visitor emails

  • Content Accessibility: Constant revision of document and site descriptions by our quality control staff

CWNews.com

Trinity devoted over 3,000 hours to its Catholic World News service in 2007.

This work included:

  • Filed 7,301 Catholic news stories
  • Posted 506 commentaries in Off the Record
  • Developing a master plan to incorporate the news service into the CatholicCulture.org site in 2008

Internet Development: Other Organizations

Trinity contributed 104 service hours free of charge, 1,190 service hours at reduced rates, and various hosting services to Catholic organizations and other entities that promote the Church's interests.
