Throughout 2006 we requested and received support from users to further the Catholic apostolic work of Trinity Communications.

OVERVIEW

Catholic Culture (www.catholicculture.org)

  • Began a complete redesign of the entire CatholicCulture.org website
  • Added major resources throughout the new site, including library, liturgical year, and website review upgrades
  • Created a one-of-a-kind, searchable database containing the works of the early Church Fathers

Catholic World News (www.CWNews.com)

  • Purchased this website in June and began making minor improvements in preparation for a comprehensive, subscriber-focused redesign in 2007
  • Redesigned the site's advertising operations, thereby increasing revenue
  • Added an online donation system to the CWNews website, and thereby created an additional income source

Catholic Dictionary (www.catholicreference.net)

  • Developed a new website to house Fr. John Hardon’s Modern Catholic Dictionary

Ecommerce (www.trinstore.com/ecom_3/)

  • Continued to develop and improve our line of distinctive RC (Roman Catholic) merchandise
  • Added distinctive and attractive merchandise options
  • A small but valued source of income for Trinity

Catholic Internet Development: Other Organizations

  • Developed websites, including comprehensive online tools and resources, for multiple Catholic organizations and organizations important to the Catholic Church
  • Industries assisted have included Catholic education, pro-life initiatives, Catholic health care, and other interests

Catholic Culture

We devoted 4,195 hours of development work to CatholicCulture.org in 2006.

Accomplishments include:

  • Design: Began a complete redesign of the entire CatholicCulture.org website

  • Library: Added 589 critical new documents

  • Fathers of the Church:

    • Developed a fully searchable document database
    • Added 2,217 documents to the database

  • Reviews: Added 105 new site reviews and updated another 619 existing site reviews.

  • Commentary:

    • Wrote 69 new commentaries on issues of great significance to Catholics
    • Developed a blog (released on the new CatholicCulture.org site)

  • What You Need to Know: A guide to the most important web resources on key topics

  • Liturgical Year:

    • Updated all 365 calendar days
    • Revised overviews for all twelve months and five liturgical seasons
    • Hundreds of updated and newly-assigned records involving saints, activities, prayers, and recipes

  • Dictionary: Digitized all 5,681 entries in Fr. John A. Hardon’s Modern Catholic Dictionary

  • Communication: Responded to thousands of visitor emails

  • Search Tools: Added a completely redesigned, advanced site searching system

CWNews.com

Trinity purchased the Catholic World News website and devoted over 500 hours to site improvements in 2006.

Improvements include:

  • Enhanced useability and document readability
  • Added an online donation system
  • Redesigned the site's advertising operations
  • Improved the News Bytes, Off the Record, and Sound Off! features

Internet Development: Other Organizations

Trinity contributed 350 service hours free of charge, and over 800 service hours at significantly reduced rates, to Catholic organizations and other entities that promote the Church's interests.
