This punch is a nice light summer accompaniment for the Feast of the Assumption. Traditionally on this day the priest would give a blessing of the harvest and/or herbs. We should drink of these "blessed herbs" on this day in praise of the unstained Mother of God.

DIRECTIONS

Pound sugar, salt and herbs in a mortar. Pour tea and fruit juice over them. Cover and allow to stand for several hours. Strain over ice. Add fruit juice and white wine for adults or ginger ale for children. Place mint in the mouth of the pitcher, and serve.
